The Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District is responsible for providing fire protection and emergency medical services to the Villages of Deerfield (north of Lake Cook Road), Bannockburn, a portion of Riverwoods and areas of unincorporated Lake County. The portion of the Village of Deerfield located south of Lake Cook Road is served by the Northbrook Fire District.
Continuous training in firefighting techniques and emergency medical procedures is provided to ensure proficiency in all areas. Firefighter/paramedics are certified through the Office of the State Fire Marshall and the Illinois Department of Public Health. The department also has trained personnel for special incident types not scene everyday such as:
- Hazardous Materials Team (HazMat)
- Technical Rescue Team (TRT)
- Underwater Rescue and Recovery Team (Dive)
The members of these teams serve the area, not only our community, and may actually be called to assist as a member of these teams with personnel from other departments.
Our equipment which protects our citizens and their property include: three pumpers, one aerial ladder truck, two squad trucks, three paramedic ambulances, one command vehicle and five administrative/support vehicles.
