About Us
The Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District is responsible for providing fire protection and emergency medical services to the Villages of Deerfield (north of Lake Cook Road), Bannockburn, a portion of Riverwoods and areas of unincorporated Lake County. That portion of the Village of Deerfield located south of Lake Cook Road is served by the Northbrook Fire District.
Continuous training in firefighting techniques and emergency medical procedures is provided to ensure proficiency in all areas. Firefighter/paramedics are certified through the Office of the State Fire Marshall and the Illinois Department of Health. The department has trained personnel for special teams which include:
- Hazardous Materials Team
- Technical Rescue Team
- Underwater Rescue and Recovery Team
Members of these Teams also participate in area wide Teams for each of the specialties mentioned.
Equipment protecting the citizens and their property include three pumpers, one aerial ladder truck, two squad trucks, three paramedic ambulances, one command vehicle and five administrative/support vehicles.
